Taking a break
« on: January 11, 2008, 11:49:37 PM »
I am very surprised that I have decided to take a break.  Something is different about the board right now.  I'm not finding what I really hope to find and I feel that I have little to give here at this time.

This place has been so important to me for the year and a half that I have belonged but now the climate is different.  I feel  invisible here these days and the predominant conversation seems to be more "in the problem" than "in the solution."

I'll be back in a couple of months.  I can't stay away.  This is the only place where other people know what it is like to have been damaged by relationships with Ns. But right now even that is not enough to overcome the stuckedness climate infecting the board right now.

thanks to all you who have offered me support and encouragement.  I send you support and encouragement in return.  I hope to see you again in  a couple of months. - Yours - Gaining Strength (overcoming anxiety)

I love your posts GS, and I will miss them SO much. I respect your ideas about focusing on the solution, not the problem; they are wise words.

Hey we have a `what helps' section, and noone visits! Maybe its because more people are trying to discover the `nature' of the problem, so they come up with the best solution for them?

Dear GS
 This is just my impression. I could be wrong. You seemed to be getting much stronger. You seemed to have become  "another person"--s/one who could face her life more and take steps that she could not ,previously.
 Am I right?
 I, personally, hate to see you go. You have always been  important  to me---"real,"kind ,supportive--- a good friend.
 Just MY thought, but I hope you would reconsider.
 I don't know if there are specifics ,on the board, that are causing you to go,but I see the board as ebbing and flowing. Sometimes, it does feel 'horrible",but it does not last forever.
  For me, I have always had special friends ,throughout it all, and that was all I could hold on to, sometimes. YOU are special to me, GS.
   It would be a loss for me ,if you left.                                       Love   Ami

Hey GS-I wanted to leave right around Christmas because I was fed up with all the fighting but I came back to see what was going on.  Sometimes I just have to pass because I just was not getting what I need.  But I find things every once and awhile.  We hope you will pop in.

Dear Gaining Strength,

For you, from the book of wisdom...

To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under the sun.
A time to be born and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to kill and a time to heal ...
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance ...
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to lose and a time to seek;
a time to rend and a time to sew;
a time to keep silent and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

I will miss you.

Love,
Carolyn
