Bones,  That's the kind of the thing, and the other stuff too, that has put me off going there.  Love, Leah

About the only times I've gone to the You Tube site was when friends and relatives told me about funny or cute videos (i.e. the paw-holding otters).  Otherwise, I don't bother.

Bones

I do like Ballet, very much.   Oh, Bones, paw-holding otters  :)  how cute.

Those otters are CUTE!!!!  They were floating on their backs, holding each other's paws.  The accidentally separated when they bumped into a wall of the aquarium but when they floated around back toward each other, one otter reached out and took back the paw of the other otter!  ADORABLE!!!!!!

The funniest thing I have seen was when someone put Mentos in Diet Coke and it totally explodes!  It is so funny!

there's some fantastic stuff on there too though Laura.
I have watched some excellent comedy and classical music.
It's like everything else- we have to be discerning & educate ourselves & others & decide overall where the boundary is between freedom and control.

That's why I say at the churches I attend- let people bring the world with them and let's filter out the bad value stuff together.
But that is cultural too though- I would ban all handguns for example, whereas many americans I've talked to want them. I just went to the movies and there's arcade games for kids everywhere where they get to select weaponry.

And I find a lot of 'Christian' stuff offensive too, frankly. I watched two movies called 'Left Behind' and they were full of violence and really skewed Jesus' teachings to a particular and unpleasant to me representation.

YouTube IS regulated, if you see something offensive report it and they take it down.

If I start watching something and I don't think it is what I need to see I switch it off. I hate violence and it's easy to become so desensitised to it. I won't even watch it on news reports. I know what it looks like already, sadly....

Anaheim Ballet does a weekly segment to get younger folks interested in ballet.  They're very short videos.  This is one of the introductory ones.

I've also been sent links for videos of a cat that plays the piano and other cats that have been taught to say "MaMa".

Believe it or not, my foster mom's now-deceased dog could say "banana"  It sounded like "ba rah ra" but he DID get the banana to eat for saying it.

thank MTd

You are the only one to comment on that one and it is a tear jerker.
I haven't cried for 15 years but I would if I could.

I didn't read through the whole string here, but I have not watched any of the yucky stuff on YouTube. I know it is there, but I look up things like old comedy routines and music videos. It's all about choice, and I sure would hate to have my choice taken away.
