Like A Dog

Sometimes I feel like a big scruffy dog who will do anything to please...

As long as I don't lick the wrong kind of toes, I guess it's OK. But some people just do not deserve the kindness, you know????

Is that beagle possibly going to become a reality????????????????

Henry does NOT do anything I ask just to be sweet. In fact, I was reading about bulldogs this week and they said that it is not that they don't hear you or know what to do... but they have to decide if the action os worth the effort. Gosh, is that true!!!!!

Love, Beth

Ahhh, beagles.
My first dog I was long-term close to was a beagle named Patches.
And then I went to see The Year of the Dog.

RENT IT! EVERYBODY!
It will make you happy in your soul.

And then the recent big dog-show champion reminded me how great beagles are...so...
one day. Not until my big ole wheezy pooch has gone to the doghouse in the sky, though.

hugs and woofs,

Hi Beth,

I don't see you as a big scruffy dog I see you as a smart poodle who's upbringing caregivers could not recognize the value and preciousness of such a wonderful pet.

Gab.

Oh Lise....
No poodles, please :) :)
I'd rather be a bloodhound or a mastiff :)

If you're a dog and the wrong kind of toe is the worst thing you're licking then you're one up on any dog I ever met. :? :P

I was thinking standard poodle, you know the big ones?

Mastiff's are wonderful dogs.

Ahhh, Mud, it's a comfort to know you're hovering...

I rethink beagle.
Beagles gotta roam.
I need a dog who's happy on a leash.

I am sure it'll be a mutt.

I think I'd like to go to the pound and pick the ugliest friendly dog.

My Standard Poodle, Henrietta, was the most loyal friend. She always had an "eye" on my H. She would growl whenever he got near me. Wherever I was, she had an eye on the surroundings and would let out a menacing growl to anyone who got near me.
We had an unspoken communication from having been together for 13 and  half years.
She would come and rest her head in my lap.Once I got Mimi, Henri would always look around before she came for a pat b/c Mimi would try to beat her to it. I feel badly that I had Mimi , in her last years. She deserved all the love, not to have to split it.
Animal love is very unique and precious, especially if you have been abused. I always wanted to be part of a Dog therapy group. People bring their dogs to nursing homes and hospitals. Henri was too big and misbehaved for that. Maybe Mimi would work, when she gets trained, whenever that is(lol)                    Ami

I love all dogs really, they are so loyal, I grew up with dogs in family life.  Recently spotted an advertisement by a local charity group who are asking for volunteers to walk dogs, twice a day.  The dogs are beloved pets of elderly people who cannot walk their beloved friend.  So rather that the owner having to give up their beloved friend, which would be so heartbreaking, the group of volunteers walk the dogs, and also, I would think that the volunteer would enjoy befriending the housebound elderly person.

Presently, I am considering volunteering for the early morning walking as it would be most pleasant walking along the country lanes in the early morning (complete with petscoop!) with an added bonus of befriending some lovely people.

Love, Leah

Leah,
I love that charity's idea.
It's brilliant.

Enjoy!
