Poetry Corner: How big will we be.....?

[lighter]

How big will we be.....

when we observe,

 not judge?

When we take off our shoes,

without question,

so we may put on the shoes of those who confuse and conflict us?

How big will we be....

when we aren't triggered by criticism and attacks.....

but moved to outflank the anger....

 and heal the distress?

How big will we be....

when we can glimpse the aching child's heart in each of us.....

or.....

 glimpse the manipulative reflection of our own soul....

 in a deceiver,

for the sake of controlling us?

How big will we be.....

when we can admit that we can't save people from themselves.....

then focus our minds on personal boundaries......

and saving ourselves?

[changing]

We are all fragile and flawed

Staring into the mirror awed

Like other creatures compelled to gather and squeak and honk and bray

Drawn to the Others equally compelled to fly away

Streams of water tears blood and dust

Lubricate smear and cause to rust

We are such fragile beings with so little time

As we cry and bark in pantomime
