AHA! CB

and great!

Is this a chain with the same name? Sounds even greater.

and you are right! We have to be open for the opportunity when it comes, or we could miss the boat!!

::tingles all over, CB::

I remember reading your posts....

when you were rolling around the grocery store with balloons...

chatting up the customers....

your feet bothering you something terrible.....

being offered more responsibility and up the ladder you went!

All the personalities you had to deal with.... the good, the bad and the ugly/ignorant.

How you learned from your friend.... how to ignore gossip and unkind words of the thoughtless and hurtful, back in the in the kitchen.

How you moved on and sold yourself to these restaurant folk.... and now I see you were carving your own niche all the time: )

Another amazing journey.... I'm so delighted to have witnessed some of it.

Thanks for sharing this update.... I've thought about you over the months you were absent.

CB:

When you have a chance, tell us something about your new place.  Food?  Wine?  Atmosphere?  Good luck.  I know from chef friends it's a hard but rewarding profession.  I'll just keep cooking for my family and friends, and loving them for being so appreciative.  And, you know, being a little jealous of you.

Thank you Ann, I will start a thread on my progress.

OK CB. I saw a nice cozy nd warm restaurant small where they offer breakfast for 3.00.

I want to do something like that.

How can I start? Looking for a place? Equitment? But, how do I get the money?

Awesome, CB.  I lived in NYC for years but am a native Californian and now live, basically, surrounded by vineyards.  At harvest (fall) even the air here smells like wine.  But we have NO good Chinese food!  Great Italian (well yes of course, the CA wine immigrants, post 1885, were mostly Italian), but no Indian, oriental.  The stuff I loved in NYC.  So I'll be thinking of you and wishing you the best as you open.  If you ever need wine advice you know where to turn.
