CB and Leah (or anyone interested) - Christian Mysogynist
« on: July 05, 2008, 01:21:14 PM »
Leah,

That article you posted on "What Helps" is the very one I found !  Thanks !

CB,

I still think the universe is calling me to step out a little more, (as it does to eveyone) but I'm glad Leah posted the very article I wanted.  I don't think it's really easy to crash a computer, but I plan on getting some "For Dummies" computer books, since I'm a book person.  But, who knows?  My H has been wanting to get a new system, so maybe we'll have to... :)

Hi CatsPaw,

Finding that article caused me to cry.  Which is good for healing.  So "Thank You"

I added it to "spiritual abuse" thread.

Would you like me to copy the article over onto this, your thread?   Or I can leave it to you, for you to do so, thinking about it.

Thank you again, because I did not know there was "An Answer" and I have ordered the book, just now.

I have kept such a lot to myself, regarding much, for fear of 'whatever' may be, as a result of opening up, throughout my life, generally.

Blessings to you.

Love, Leah

Leah,

Are you saying this was the first time you'd found the article?  I thought you were familiar with it, and that's why you posted it.

I think it's OK to leave it where it is, since it's been identified where it is, but I might modify the title of the thread.

I'm glad you're crying the healing type of tears.

P.S.  You were posting while I was,  just wanted to say it's so understandable that you felt your whole being was ripped apart.

Hi Cats Paw,

After you posted over on CB's thread - mentioning that you had an article on the subject - and you mentioned that you would post it in the next day or so -

- I wondered about it - and so I googled and found an article.

First I had heard of it.   First time I had read the article.

So, I added to my 'life story' "Spiritual Abuse" thread.

"Christian Mysogynist" had never occured to me.         That is why I wholeheartedly expressed to you a big "Thank You"

The content therein is most enlightening, validating, and answers the reason "why" to much.    I have ordered a copy of the book.

Love, Leah

Leah,

I would feel strange saying "You're welcome ", since I accidentally came across the article, so let me just say I'm glad I mentioned
it, that you noticed what I wrote, and that you were able to google the very article I read !

This is the website I found about 5 years ago.

It has a 12-step program, and has very understandable reading.

Kitty and Leah,

Thanks for posting the article about the phenomenon of Christian misogyny.  It took me a long time for it to dawn on me that that is what I was dealing with in my marriage and church--unfortunately, no one wears name tags or labels, and for a long time I just didnt get what was going on.

There's a lot in the article that I could interact with that happened in my own life--but I have stepped on a lot of toes in my own thread about christian beliefs and I am not up for another round.  I started a post that brought up some things that had gone on and how I had grown from it.  But I don't want to be construed as being judgemental or bashing.  Just not worth it.

But, I wanted you to know that the article was very illuminating and I wish I had had it several years ago when I was so confused about what was happening to me.  I think it would be worth posting again on this thread to make it more visible.  I don't know if anyone here is dealing with the issue, but later readers might be and I think it would be helpful to have it here.

Thanks again, to you both.

CB,

It happened in my life too.

I had no idea - I only wish I had had such information.

Along with Susan Forward Ph.D. - book "Emotional Blackmail"

I was silenced, just the same as others too, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
