More Mom Rant

[Overcomer]

So we have this coach from the franchise come to our store.  We talk about profitability.  I thought, "no time like the present to expose my mom."  So I proceeded to tell him all the stupid things my mom does.  Apparently she was rolling her eyes while I was "telling on her."  Finally she bursts out........OK KELLY I HEREBY TURN THE BUSINESS OVER TO YOU!!  Well, I am not a sucker and basically said, "I will believe it when I see it."  The coach said, "Mom you need to stay away and let Kelly take the reigns."  One day passed.  Then as I was leaving on day 2, who do you think I spotted?  My mom.  I know she will say something like, "I never said you could have the business!"

Ask her if she remembers what the Coach said. 

How would that work? No? Then tell her that her memory is failiing.

How would that work? No. She will tell you that you are crazy?

And life drags on and on and on and on and on and on and on.....................

And she was there all day and our bookkeeper wants me to call her on it but I know her-deny-deny-deny.  She will deny she ever said she would back off.

I have been thinking about you Overcomer.  I have been thinking about how you view your mother.  I'm wondering if you can find a way to shift your view of her and see yourself in a more powerful role and her as a weak little being.  Not that that is how things are right now but if you could use your imagination and switch your role with her - become powerful and unflinching in her N role?

I feel sort of incompetent on conveying what it is that I have been thinking and how I was thinking you could take your power back. - sort of ignore her and become immune to her jabs and controll issues - sort of deaf to them, pretend you never heard it and keep going.  Just thinking out loud.
