Hi all,
Wanted to direct everybody to today's Since You Asked column on
www.salon.com.
Although the FOO issues have perhaps a different (cultural) cause than narcissism,
Cary's answer (and comments from many of the letter writers who discuss
his advice) seem so right for people here.
Here's a sample comment from one letter. Typed in gold, imo ("LW" stands for Letter Writer):
LW, your parents may never "get you". Striving to create a circumstance where they will consumes an enormous amount of energy that you could be redirecting, directing towards fashioning a life you love to live. Maybe over time, your parents will "get it", perhaps not. But rather you live the life you want, and seek to fill your life with mature relationships, than strive to recraft relationships and mindsets that are deeply cast.love,
Hops
