WHY do I get so mad?

at Susan Boyle's nay-sayers!

I have my Susan album and love it. Her album is Amazon's biggest advance seller in their History, with the fastest-selling worldwide debut album for a female artist.

I Just hate thisbelow: I want to buy a newspaper and choose a headline to shut them all up!

Quote
Susan Boyle On The Verge Of Another Break Down
Just moments after finishing a note-perfect performance on live American television Susan Boyle was seen on television breaking down in tears.
The 48-year-old had been enjoying lunch with fans at the Rock Centre cafe in New York’s Rockefeller Centre.
But she appeared increasingly withdrawn and started to tremble and suck her thumb. Then, visibly overcome with emotion, she bowed her head and began to sob.

Well fans from around the world had joined together to make her a quilt, squares from around the world, and another smaller one for Pebbles. I saw the video of the fun they were having, at the restaurant, and Susan did a short wiggle, smiling, then sat down and sobered right up as thought that wasn't her. It was funny! (Like laughing and running your hand down over your face and ending up sober-looking). She did that twice, and she said "Meow" for thank you from Pebbles, talked about baby steps and stuck her thumb in her mouth, and was so overcome with all the love shown by her fans that she burst into tears. Oh My! How all the tabloids got that wrong! and all the fans posting and correcting. (I think I hear there might be a lawsuit over this with one Newspaper in UK.) They really DO have to stop trying to bring her down. Matt Lauer named her NBC's Woman of the Year!

And Simon Cowell who has annoyed me in the past has earned some respect as far as I am concerned. would anyone else have given her a chance?

Quote
Cowell, 50, said: 'I think Susan Boyle was good for all of us. She was certainly good for me because I look at me in that first audition and I saw something which I didn't particularly like, which was incredibly judgmental.

'So I think Susan is going to help an awful lot of people who didn't have the confidence to do this and realise that actually if you are determined and talented and people like you, you don't have to conform to what the music business has previously said.'
He says she is 'a fly in the face of every talentless monster who's become famous for not actually doing anything, but of which there are thousands in the world today - just people who are famous for being useless'

I think I feel that if it hurts me, then it must hurt her, as though she were own daughter.

I'm just happy she doesn't have a computer to read all this crap, but there are still Newspapers.

Simon Cowell said it better than I could have, and I totally agree with his statement.  Very perceptive of him. :)

Simon Cowell, I agree with him as well.  You're mad because you don't want her to get hurt and feel helpless to protect this oh-so-gifted person.

BTW, Simon Cowell is acutally a very nice person.  His media "persona" is mostly and act that makes several people in the media business very rich, including him.  He is also very generous with charities and less fortunate people in this world.  I know a few that have met him and they said that he's a bit shy and private and blushed at compliments

I did Boyle--who took care of her mother for years before she died--that her mother told her to do "something big" after she died. That must have been the impetus that drove her to try out for the show in the first place.  I think when she hears all the compliments to her about her voice, she probably flashes to her mother and all the years she wanted to do this but felt she had no chance, and it breaks her down with sadness in some way as she cannot believe she is where she is at now.  I get her.
And she's definitely a talent.
