Cary Tennis is on this topic today...very moving response.

I couldn't agree with his "hard truth" advice more...

Hey Hops, I'm still working on this one -- I can't get it to come up at home and I'm limited in time at work -- today I got to read the article but not the reply -- so I am salivating for my next coffee break!  It's bookmarked -- hopefully my boss will be more cooperative tomorrow!

(((((((((((Biddy))))))))))))))

It is pretty extraordinary, on Cary, sometimes.
There'll be the LW (letter writer), then Cary, who sometimes gets RIGHT to the...right.

And then a whole bunch of commenters posting their own letters, and most of them advice...(and a few nasty trolls to ignore.)

I just wanted to bring this one to the board because of his reply. I hope anyone who suffered abuse of any kind as a child will read it.

After several days of devoting my goof off time to the article, other replies and other letters -- I really enjoy this site!  I've got it bookmarked!  Thanks Hops!  I don't know why glimpses into the misery of others helps so much -- but it really does!  I'm not crazy -- just underloved!  And as I mature, I'm trying to love me enough to make up for it -- it's kind of going to have to be my life's work until I am able to do / be more.

Your family is never going to give you what you want.
If you keep hoping they'll give you what you want, you're just asking for more pain, trouble and disappointment.

PERFECTLY said. This is an excellent piece. Thank you for sharing.
