Weekends
« on: January 10, 2011, 12:38:53 PM »
Does anyone else here have an N in their lives that takes great pride in ruining your weekend? I mean more so than during the week!   Saturday mornings my NH runs around the house looking to pick a fight and it doesn't end until Monday morning. He has always been this way. I have learned to keep my distance. If he can't get anyone to fight with him he just vanishes and pretends that he is really busy.

Yes, I've had an N in my life who would do that. Keeping my distance seemed to be my only defense against it, too. It was crazy-making, especially since he would suddenly turn around and want to pretend like nothing happened and be the best of friends again.

I'm sorry your weekends are such a pain.

Thanks cantors counter, the pretending away situations at their will is maddening to say the least. Sometimes I wonder if the weekends bring a panic to him that he will be expected to do something with the family and can not cope with the thought. He can't do intimate or be without the spot light on him for very long. You can see the anger building if he pushes himself to even try. It's not worth trying to get him to function like a real husband and father. It's easier to be alone.

Weekends and holidays!  Both of my parents loved to ruin weekends and holidays -- the bigger the build-up, the more likely to be a fiasco.  Leisure time is not good for these people!
