I don't think a soul is ruined by the stuff the ego is doing. And by ego I mean the personality structure. I distinguish between the spiritual being and the personality.

in a sense damaged by ego
but can always be redeemed....
biblically i dont think it really says a soul
goes to hell eternally
but rather for an age or ages
as i think it says in the greek new testament as we have it

fully individualized free will
with which i agree but i am not
sure of many areas beyond that...
except that maybe it differentiates
the state of spirit in humans and animals
.. plants perhaps have soul quality too..

and then trying to reflect as to narcisstic personality disorder
in spiritual terms ....
ego i not so much as personality structure
unless one means that one's personality is what structures ego
namely, one deals with each indivdiual situation
by way of channelling one's self or ego
thru one's personality ...
where personality is what one brings to bear
of one's self as one feels an individual situation
and reponse is required...
and of course the best way to channel the best of self
or ego is that it submits its desires to the will of the creator
by considering the needs of others before one's own
which of course requires discernment to be most effective
where in some cases what the other might need as jesus says
in luke 17:3 if your brother sins against you, REBUKE HIM AND
WHEN HE REPENTS FORGIVE HIM...
now this could have a lot to bear on the
narcisstic personality disorder potentially...
biblically in john it says in effect i think
that the holy spirit teaches all things ...
and that the holy spirit speaks not of self..
i think in the sense , it does not put self
above others but seeks to realize how all can
be equal before god...
WHAT KIND OF VARIATIONS DO YOU THINK
NARCISSTS MIGHT HAVE ABOUT ALL BEING
POTENTIALLY EQUAL BEFORE GOD...
AND PERHAPS THEN COMPARE THEIR SPIN
TO WHAT OTHER DISORDERS MIGHT USE..
i think of the holy trinity as
god the father as true eternal unchanging
superconsious principles
which ultimatley allows change and governs
on the deepest level all change...
THE TAO IF YOU WILL
then out of the father comes
the christ
or the perfect mind given to all spiritual beings
that are composed of soul mind and will...
these spiritual beings are sons of god
all capable of being one with god the father
as jesus was as the first begotten of the dead...
and i think there were previous incarnations of jesus
such as melchisedec
and when a soul manifests pure desires
as jesus did tho tempted in all ways of the flesh
that is HOLY SPIRIT that can serve as an example
for all and as a teacher for all to cleanse and purify their heart
which i think of as the subconscious mind and when
pure as god the mother
