Spiritual leapfrogging--I think I've been trying to get away with that all my life but it sure doesn't work. The pain just finds you anyway. All you can do is go straight through it, like everybody here says.
The Wedding Singer--not being sarcastic here--but I think of it as Adam Sandler's masterpiece. I don't think he will ever top it. Only one moment? Drew Barrymore's "Julia" is getting married to a cad. Maybe even a narcissist!! He won't even help her plan any part of their wedding. Adam Sandler's "Robbie" has been slowly falling in love with Julia and hates her fiance. So, Robbie agrees to go with Julia to help pick out cake and such things. They have such chemistry that the wedding planner thinks they are the happy couple. They end up pulling each other's hair and pinching noses and giggling together the whole time and it is so obvious that they should be the ones getting married. Just a very genuine scene. The ideal situation where a man and a woman become the best of friends and then fall in love the way they should.
There is also a very funny scene where Robbie, in his job as a wedding singer, is so depressed about his love life that he sings "Love Stinks" at a wedding reception and the bride's dad decks him. Now that's a reception people will remember!!!
One of my favorite movies and I recommend it to anyone who likes to see the right guy get the right girl.
And now that I think about it, the girl gets saved from a terrible life trying to please a N-type guy. Lucky girl in more ways than one.
