Just brought her home from her first day of chemo.
She actually kind of enjoyed it. We'll see in a few days if she still does.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys.

Today at 5:50 am (New York time), Tupelo Honey was playing on the radio where I work.  It made me think of the Mudpuppy Family and I remembered, Mud, that you said the first chemotherapy session went well.  May they all go well.

She finished her first round of chemo last friday. She has tolerated it amazingly well. She takes an anti nausea drug which kind of knocks her out for a good portion of the day but she has had no nausea. She still tires easily but gets a little stronger each day.
The big test will come on the 29th when we get her tumor marker test back to see how much the level has dropped. She starts her second round then also.
So far so good.

Unfortunately a friend of ours was just diagnosed with cancer in the liver, pelvis, spine, lungs and neck. Only in his fifties and very fit. Super good marriage and his wife is devastated. They told him six months without chemo, maybe two years with.

It seems like whenever we start thinking 'how could it get any worse' we're always reminded that for someone else it already has.

Dear Mud,

I'm so sorry about your friend and his family and glad for you and yours. When such mixed feelings co-exist, I can only keep praying and know that things are often not as they appear to the eyes in our heads, but that the eyes of the spirit are true.

Thank you for posting.

With love,
Hope

I'm so glad Mrs. Mud has tolerated her first round so well. Very glad.

I can't express adequately my sympathy on the news about your friend.

It feel like an epidemic, so many people in their 50s and younger.
I don't understand it. Maybe it's only because I'm in those years that I see it?

Please believe me I'm not being sarcastic...I keep having the persistent thought
that in this generation, perhaps it's the accumulation of toxins in the environment.

Still, there is much hope. There are so many people in looong remission.

Please keep us posted.

Mud, I hadn't read this thread and I have to apologize for ranting and raving!!  It isn't all about me and my battles................someone told me you can look to your right and to your left and realize that you don't have it so bad!!!  May the peace of God which transcends all understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus!!

Prayers to you and your wife AND your friends!!!

Thank God for chemo and the miracle of modern medicine - years ago there would be no hope - now - great hope!!!
