I loved Steve Irwin
« on: September 04, 2006, 09:16:11 PM »
I know this is totally off subject, but I am so sad about the death of Steve Irwin, the Croc Hunter. I adored him.
In my whole life, I can only think of three celebrities' deaths that have affected me this way... Diana... (an odd one here) Left Eye of TLC and Steve Irwin. I guess I am bummed because he was such a wonderfully sweet and positive and happy man. And he loved animals... my passion.... I felt that he brought knowledge to those who fear animals irrationally, showed them how animals really are.
So, this is my tribute to Steve. May he rest in peace and know how great he was and what a wonderful influence on the world.

He was truly one of a kind.

I feel sad for him, gone so young [44!!!!] but even sadder for his wife and their two children.

Hi Beth ,

My youngest daughter is so sad at Steve Irwin's passing .

I have never seen her react to any other passing as Irwin's.
Steve Irwin was concerned with conservation and loved animals so much.

This accident was one in a million chances of happening.
Steve Irwin's winning personality made him well loved.
He was a fine man ,God Bless Him.

We here are saddened, too. My husband is very much like this man, with no fear but only love and respect for all of God's creatures.
Teen daughter has been quite upset at the news, as well... she really identified with Steve's approach to wildlife.
Thanks for sharing your tribute with us here, ((((((((Beth)))))))))

Love,
Hope

Oh me too. Thank you Beth.
He was a force of nature himself...what a tragic loss.

Right this moment I'm watching Animal Planet's tribute.
The worst was hearing his little 5 y/o daughter (she's so incredibly happy and outgoing, so much like him) so joyfully and confidently talk about her relationship with her dad...

What a legacy he has left behind. I hope his death will help inspire some new "wildlife warriors."

Bless his heart.

Steve will be missed.  I celebrate his hunger for life and his fearlessness.  He was so focused, and so completely STEVE.  There won't be another quite like him!  I feel so sad for his family.  :(
