High Days and Holidays

our current family visit is turning into the usual n-fuelled power battle over who does what/ can't everyone see what a useless controlling bitch I am, et cetera.
Usually I am completely drained after so much as a day-trip, but this time I was able to prepare emotionally and garner resources. I shall take a short solitary vacation afterwards too.
In all my life I cannot remember a single outing or holiday or special day involving them which was not made extremely stressful or ruined by either my father or my husband!
