Not a bit, TT...you expand my comfort zone.

Thanks for your eloquence and clarity, and likewise thanks for being a good sport.

I love talking to you, and I learn.

I will continue my relationship with Yahuwshu`a (Jesus) and will not leave Him out of anything i do.  He paid way too high of a price for me not to forsake all and not be a manpleaser and to follow Him.  I will pray for those stuck in religion and who don't truly know Him too.  If that removes me from the board, it is to be expected.  My Lord was persecuted and punished as well.

I am a Christian and the scriptures are the best comfort to me.  If someone was on the board and was any other religion and quoted from their Holy book I might read it out of curiosity but I would not feel anger about it.  I know there are tons of Christians here and it is interesting to see how they speak their Christianity.  You can almost predict what denomination they are by the words they choose.  But my thought is-To each his own.

Hi Kelly,

Go on then -- which denomination am I ?   :)

Seriously, really interested in what you have picked up from my sharing etc.

Well considering you are from the UK I do not have a clue but you seem spiritual and pretty grounded.  I have observed a lot of religious jargon from some and it is reminiscent of my mom.

Yes, realize that some of our board members probably attend church, hear scripture and believe in God; however, what does that have to do with this board?  Trying to figure out what the members who do this are attempting to accomplish by quoting Christian messages?
Aren't most of us here attempting to understand the narcissists' motivation?
Can't we leave God and scriptures out of this message board?
Can't we just use a level playing field here and concentrate on facts in our attempt to find answers?
If I wanted to hear the old saw, "God never gives you anything more than you can handle," half of us on this board, I'll bet, wouldn't even be here.  We would be "handling" it better.
And for those that are cramming God and scripture into their messages, did it ever occur to you that not everyone on this board is not only not a Christianity some just plain don't think this is the time or place for it.
I've said my piece.

Hi Anastasia,

Welcome to the board. I'm glad that you are here and were strong enough to express your ideas and feelings about the overtone of Christianity on the board.

I am Christian and very much aware of how my outspoken ways of relating God and my Faith can be somewhat offensive to others. Perhaps it could help you to know that when I personally speak of God it is not to convert others, sway, preach, teach, or judge.

My faith is a deep and loved part of my life.

Being a member of AA, many of my dearest friends are nonreligious or agnostic we have a "live and let live" approach to each others views as well as our approach to God.  Also, since we share a common purpose of healing or sobriety, we will focus on service and love of each other regardless of each others Faith background.

Thank you for your post and outspoken sharing.

Anastasia,
welcome, from one newbe to another.  It has felt so good to find a place to pour out what ever i felt.  What has given me the greatest relief is that I have done so without being attacked, chastised and told how inappropriately stupid and poltically incorrect I am.  We are all hurting, and use what ever mean at our disposal that we have.  For some of us, our religious foundations are what has kept us from becoming as those who have offended, abused and hurt us.  It has given us the strengths to endure, and happens to be a common thread (get it) among many of us.  I respect your right to contribute without your beliefs and I thank you to accept that I an many others choose to share ours.  We are here to support and heal with out aggression and anger, and after reading you posting, I am feeling that coming from you.  Please remember we are all here for support not to fight with each other and tear each other down, finding fault when that is where we have already been.  As I am new and I do not know how to direct you to one,  perhaps there is a thread for those who prefer to leave ones beliefs out of the equation, that one of the long term posters can help you find as they did when they helped me find this one.

To me it is the difference between a good teacher and a hell fire and brimstone preacher.  Some of the religous talk is over the top and some seems more comforting.  It is like surfing through the channels and running across Jan Crouch with her pink hair-always dabbing her nose with a hankie.  That just seems to be a turn off to people who do not understand where she is coming from-and from those who do-me!  Some you can take and some are a definite turn off.  Some do not realize they do harm.

Hi ((((((Carolyn)))))) hon,

I had a serious soft spot for Tammy Faye Baker.
What a journey.

Did you ever see the documentary about her?

(((((((((((Hops)))))))))))  You do know that you're the only living creature allowed to call me hon... don'tcha?

No, haven't seen the documentary, but I'd be willing to view it.
I'm sure it's quite sad... as it always is when someone's deceived and doesn't know it.

Love you bunches,
Carolyn

Oh I hope you'll rent it!
I found it moving and triumphant, not sad...
She wound up becoming a really amazing person.
Very Christlike.

Been a while though.
Need to watch it again.

(Thanks for your tolerance. I lived in Baltimore for years..."hon" is a Baltimore thing too...)

Yeah but her and Jim did a lot of damage to the cause in the 80s.  But it was a sad ending to her life-she looked horrible before she died and I even think they had an interview with her the day before.  Yes Jan wears a huge pink wig and always wears this maxi skirt-she seems sweet enough only a caricature.
