MDay Card
« on: May 10, 2008, 09:36:55 AM »
Oh why can't they make a card that just says, 'Here you go, a card for you?'
I just can't be hypocritical and send a gushy one. I found an ecard that is low-key.
It's a bummer when you look at all the cards that talk about what women gave up for their kids and how much they love them and what great friends mothers and daughters can be.

I have thought the very same for a number of years, and now, I simply refuse to read them at all!  Same goes for Father's day cards.

If the words on the card don't relate to my personal experience, then for me personally, the card would be a lie.

A blank card suits my parents best!  Empty and void of expressions of love, is the truth!

((((( Beth ))))) not easy, I do know, and have sincere empathy with you at this moment in time.

I like that, Leah, a blank card sent to them without writing in it(lol)                Ami

LOL (((((( Ami )))))) I would never send them a blank card, just that I think a "blank card" with no words or prose of loving etc., would seem more fitting, as they are void of love and caring, for they only know cruel games for their own pleasure and purpose.

Truth is better than a lie.

There are usually some good minimal message cards at the thrift stores.  I don't care much anymore about what it says, as long as it doesn't cost me anything....

Hey GS,

They have those musical cards now where it says something on the front such as To you Mom on Mothers Day,  Or, This is what I think about you,

You open it and you can now record your voice, and say, Mom, then the next is the recorded music from the band,

One is perfect for you.

It says something like, For a special,  then you mom would open the card and hear your recorded voice,  saying Mom, then the recorded music says, Ohhhhhhhhhh, your unbelievable. (like the song)  that's it.

and it would have double messages one appropriate for you and the other for her  She would think she is a goddess and you meant it like, God your really unbelievable grrrr.(lol).

She would be happy and you would be happy.  Win/Win

Exactly-I read through so many cards and none were true so I went for a pretty generic one.

I think - a blank one - then on the inside I could draw a hand with the middle finger sticking up.

Naw, she would feed off of the effort that I went to. And actually pay postage? She gets nothing from me. She has put down everything that I ever gave her.

I decided to send cards to my daughters instead, they are mothers. And to a young friend who just had her first child.

AND... A Great Big HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! With lots of warm wishes for all the mothers on this board. (And the mothering dads too!)

Thank you for letting this kitten come in :)

hi all.

I guess I will use this thread for Mother's Day.

My daughter emailed me a chatty email and said it seemed impotent to wish me HMD all the way across the country so the email and love from all instead!!

Chatty means she has checked all my messages to see if replies were needed, and if so, she remarked on the situation, and the rest was about her and the children 19 an 16.

I was very pleased to receive it, still am, and her birthday is Tuesday 13th, granddaughter's 19th tomorrow

for all of you daughters who want a pic for your Mom's, I attach. You can save to hardrive, then Insert into a Word Document by Clicking on Insert----------> Picture----> from file and you can resize by the black corner blocks when you click on it.

LOVE you guys!!!!!
Hardy har har!
Had a decent conversation with NM on The Day. She told me what she bought herself and talked about her cats. ALl in all, she was pretty low-key. She said she liked the card (I could tell she was just saying it) and I told her how LONG it took me to find the right card for her. LOL.

I personally had a fabulous day. My kids made me sweet cards and awesome homemade gifts!!!!!!! I love BEING a mom and adore my kids. What more could anyone want????

I hope you all had a great day too.

Love you guys!!!!

Hey GS

Glad you had a great day.  I just love homemade things from my little guy.  Other two are to big to make things (I have everything they ever made still) but loved thier gifts they picked out.

My little one made a card and with hearts all over it and signed it with his first and last name (lol).

Well, it's good you know his last name now. Ha  ha ha ha. What a laugh.

I am going through our stuff for the move now and came across a homework sheet of my son's from first grade. It asked why we follow rules - he answered "So we won't go to jail," and for what happens when you break rules, "Jail and death." LOL. Of course I had to put that in the kids' scrapbook!!!
