Goal setting
« on: May 28, 2008, 12:43:58 PM »
I realize from my postings today that I must move in this direction.

I have known how powerful goal setting can be and yet have had such difficulty doing this.  Today I know why.  This is a completely backwards way of operating for me.  I have been motivated by shame avoidance and not goal setting, not reaching for something positive.

Just thinking about this dredges up the shame of undeserving.  Wow!  How powerful this sense of undeserving is.  As I start to think about things that I want to get done - pow - undeserving pops up and knocks me down.  Bingo - this is a powerful thing - undeserving.

Going to EFT it for a day or two and come back.  Been efting the shame thing and it is unblocking so much.  It helps.

How about making a list of 5 categories? No more than 2 words per title.

Then writing 5 sub-things under each category? No more than 5 words to describe each.

Then arrange each category by 1-5 (most to least urgent)?

Then do 1 today?

I started that list a couple of weeks ago; MB FISH

Mothering
Business
Finances
IRS
Social life
House/home (includes yard)

Now for step 2

M
   a) Be with son - just time  b) cook meals w/,for him c) bath him d) go over karate list nightly e) read to him
B
   a) web site b) call graphic artist c) get rest of items d) work on business plan
F
   a) get out bill  b) go over accounts  c) identify immediate needs  d) make budget
I
   a) call acct and begin process
S
   a)  make one social plan per week
H
   a) clean kitchen/dishes b) rake driveway c) cut weeds d) till garden e) clean sons room and rearrange furniture f) clean out car

That was hard but thanks for the push.  Now onto doing one thing.  I'm going to keep pushing.  I love to be pushed.  It helps me so much.  The only people who have ever pushed me always did so to ultimately belittle me.  This is quite a switch.

WOW!   ((( SS )))

I really do like, very much, your GOAL target listing .... it has inspired me to do one!

It is straightforward and easily pinned to a notice board.

Many thanks for the inspiration.

And "Well Done to You" -- and away you go ticking off each completed goal.
