Someone once suggested that to me.  But I felt strongly that I needed a human relationship with which to heal, rather than a techinique.   But in certain situations, Ive heard this may work well.  More than that I dont know.
In the end, I got niether anyway.

It would be interesting to hear your experiences if you do go for it.

Yes it works. I knew a lady from another forum who practiced it and have tried it myself (but didn't have the patience to go through it everyday, unlike other practices that I am more tolerant towards). There is a site by the founder that offers a lot of insights, and being a fun of reflexology to do some emotional releasing as well, I would say that it works as well.
I will see if I can find the lady's site and will post it here.

Thx for your thoughts river, Ami & P

I think the EDMR would help some of these "incomplete" flashbacks I have... I can remember certain situations of the way my mother treated mecin my very early childhood.... But I don't remember long enough to process the situation.  It's really frustrating cause I'm left with  remembering the event but I'm cut short of resolution.

Years ago I was in therapy that worked really well.... At this time I want to do more focused symptom management.  Im in a better place now.  I think in EMDR the practioner gives you cognitine statements to help process events, and you must have the ability to self soothe if you walk out of a session which sets off difficult memories.

Thx for offering to post that website P:). And thx Ami:). I appreciate your perspective river on why EDMR is void of human discussion, which is an element to really consider, as this has been identified as an important element to healing.

Hi Swimmer,

I can't find the lady's site and interestingly enough I can't find the original webpage I visited, the sort of 'official' emdr website...I will have a look through old emails to see because I subscribed to their newsletter and see if I can find anything there.
