My Vote

My vote is that it would be nice to see all this voting to send members away stop.
To me, it seems viscious and cruel to take votes like that and to try to gather a group against one member (or even a guest-using an identity).
It's abusive to the person who is being voted against and it upsets those who see the abuse but might not want to get involved in a big ruckus because they are afraid they might end up being next maybe???? And even those who try to step in and defend might be feeling unheard.

I think everyone who posts is trying to make a point, even the nasty posts.  That person might not realize how much hurt their mean words are causing or they might be reacting inappropriately or they might be just plain displacing anger.  Stuff we all do or have done, probably, at one time or other in our lives, right?

Rather than addressing specific problems, isn't voting just another attempt to silence?

When I read what I posted, what comes to mind next is:

Maybe the people who started those threads are going to think that I am saying they are abusive people.

That's not what I'm trying to say at all.

I've behaved abusively here too.  On another thread I attacked Ellie, and then later, realized how crazy that was and appologized.  Then Ellie accepted my appology and it seems that conflict was somewhat resolved.  I'm using this example because it's here in black and white on the board(and I hope that's ok Ellie.  I'm not trying to draw attention to you but rather the resolution part of that conflict).

Maybe if I stop using the word abuse, it will help.  The point is I behaved inappropriately and then I realized it and took steps to correct what I did wrong.  We have all behaved inappropriately at some time.  So I'm not saying the people are bad people.  I'm saying the behaviour is not good.
I don't want to stir up more anger for anyone and I've learned from rereading my own post.
