agreed even in some of my jobs the companies push the staff to collect more info than some people want to give out and it gives me some discomfort too because I remember the "before times" I'm of the last generation that remembered what life was like before the internet

When I first read about Facebook I felt an instinctive revulsion-shudder that went all through me. Today, with AI, the very same shudder is way higher on the Richter Scale and rattling me to my bone marrow.

So much winning! I'm becoming more intentionally myopic. I'd rather watch an ant crawl up a plant. Going to take an online drawing class with C this winter. I know creating -- anything -- is my little bit of (imaginary) power against The Machine.

I vote. Donate a pittance to good candidates. Volunteer a bit. Keep my fingers crossed until they cramp.

I hope everyone is well and life is feeling cozy.

I miss being able to come here, and stream of consciousness babble out the things on my mind. They're half feelings and half thoughts. But I understand the difficulties of maintaining a server in this exploding digital environment. None of us are spring chickens, either.

For awhile, this turtle is crawling back into her shell and waiting for the dust to settle. Right now, I don't know what that looks like or means, coz I still have plenty to say about "life these days".

I think I've just hit the point where the return isn't justifying the effort. I'm not even sure I can post this. But I'll try.

I wish everyone the best - and thank you for the most helpful, caring, and intelligent forum on the planet!

Today I didn't have to wait for the page to open like usual when it spins. Seems to be working okay for me at the moment.
