not to rain on anyone's parade...as much as I enjoy comedy, some of the stuff on the Comedy Central network is just plain FILTH.  The language, the sexual comments, Larry the cable guy and others...just disgusting and there is NO WAY I'd let my children watch that...in fact, they scold ME if they see me watching it.  The sad thing is, just like with movies, some of those acts are really good and do not need all the cussing and vileness to enhance anything.

Yes A lot of raunchy stuff-but I have to admit I laugh at a lot of it-I would probably not watch it WITH most people especially my mom.  But I guess in my old age I can appreciate even sick or inappropriate humor.  Part of this probably stems from me doing the exact opposite of what my mom would do.  The pendulum always swings a bit too far the opposite way of my mom.

Hoppy, Lighter, Overcomer-

Thank you for checking on me! I am only on holiday break- soon I will be back among the law library stacks- this term hopefully with nothing to divert me from my studies! I am fine, truly.I don't like to be tightly budgeted as I am , but I am really well and blessed that I have what I do- if you Google Bagworms, you will see that they are a parasitic pest that sucks the life force and resources from their hosts and that is what I am dealing with and need to eradicate!!!!
I do thank you for your concern and support- I am happy even now, and will be ecstatic i think when there is no more Bagworm infestation!!!!
Lighter, keep those menus and descriptions of decorations and activities coming!

Love To All,

Changing

I tried to reply earlier to this thread but I accidentally deleted my reply, so here I go again, in reference to how people laugh at raunchy humor.

Herein lies the "rub" as they say...as a follower of the Lord and a person who does my best to adhere to the Bible, I do not lend my ears nor eyes to this type of humor.  The Bible says that for the "believer" coarse joking should not be named among us.  I'm not saying that everyone in the world follows this nor believes this, but as for a genuine Christ-follower who wants to follow scrpture radically, it's in there.

Ummmmm..... I think God has a sense of humor.....  even the ironic and askew sorts.

I don't care to discuss it any further either.

Changing..... some help with pets would be nice..... but the companionship.... having a witness around.....

priceless.

My Dear Lighter,

I certainly agree. When Bagworm sees anyone else about,he flees immediately. However, the form interrogatories for the state specifically ask about other adults, etc in the home, for the purpose of evaluating income so that is an issue in the final settlement. I will deinitely keep you informed as to my findings and progress so that I can get your take on things. Maybe something can be worke out!
Hope you had a great Sunday and thank you for your care and help- you are a godsend to me! Thank you for seing me through this!
Tomorrow I am getting "salty European butter" and baking some "crusty French bread" (thanks to you)!

Love To You And Yours,

MMmmmmmm.... salty butter and homeade fwench bwead!

I don't know why you couldn't state that you have another adult in the home then add that they're there as a favor to you, not to produce income.

You could also say that you're having trouble getting around bc of your injuries and she helps with the animals and yard instead of paying rent.

Two birds with one protective witness that keeps Bagworm in the shadows.

I'm sure your attorney will help you figure out what Bagworms idiot will say to that (and if it's enough to keep you isolated and without help )

Really upsetting when good people are kept from succor and predators enjoy secrececy and the spoils of their theivery.

BTW.... is he going to get away with stealing all the money and why don't you know where he lives yet?

I will debate this.  Laura.  I am a Christian and I know where you are coming from.  Some is just over the top.  But I have felt that my life was a list of dos and don'ts for so long.  Yes, I prolly wouldn't watch some of these shows with a crowd.  Just me.  But I also appreciate silly, stupid humor and Chris Farley just makes me laugh (God rest his soul...........)  I would never condone humor that made a mockery of my faith.  I would never turn a blind eye to anything that was immorally wrong.  But I just get a kick out of sick fart humor and even other topics.  I guess the part of me that was out there while I was pushed into this perfect box.  I think of myself as someone who is a good Christian but is also very open to humor, etc.  Nothing that would hint evil...........evil is where I draw the line....but sick humor......I can deal with that!!

ok well, there is another scripture that says "to his own Maker does he stand or fall."  God says that to him who knows it is sin and does it anyway, to that person it is sin.  To him who does not know it is sin, to that person it will not be counted as sin.  Still again, God says that if we know that something we are doing, causes a brother to stumble, not to do it.  I think this would cover the "in public" times you mentioned.

Have I personally EVER flipped to a comedy channel for a few minutes when nobody was in the room?  Of course.  Would I sit there with my children and watch it? no.  Now, the older teens used to have farting contests with their youth group friends, which I was not happy about, but it seems that very few people choose to hold to as rigid a belief structure as I choose to.

You do what is right between you and God.

Hi Lighter-

I am pretty certain that i have the correct address, and wanted confirmation before I file the Order, so that all guns are confiscated and the service is proper (need an address)- but I think that I have to go forward and trust that the address is correct- I am trying once more to enlist the distracted lawyer in the task.
Have a good sleep, and tomorrow I will report on the hot French bread and butter!

I love to hear about your goings on Lighter- it gives me motivation to push forward and then when I am free I can travel , have comedy get-togethers, etc, and do the other fun things that you do with family and friends! Thank you again!

Love,

Changing

No debate here, Laura but..... the fact that you included the word 'genuine' when referring to the kind of Christ follower you are...... wouldn't be suggesting the rest of us,

aren't, lol?

And...... you might want to rethink your use of the word 'radical.'

When I read it.... the word 'zealot' came to mind.

I don't think that's what you were going for?

Leah.... WWJD?

I always picture him hanging out with hookers.....

embracing needful humanity...

trying to make connections.

::going off to ponder the tv selections he might make::

Now I'm wondering how he'd feel about all the choices before him.

I'm curiouse if he'd watch Sunday morning sermons..... reality tv...... daytime soaps..... or any of the sitcoms and dramas.... including my all time favorite.... SIX FEET UNDER.

And..... would he watch UGLY BETTY and GREY'S ANATOMY?

Changing..... I hope your attorney can find the focus to see far in the future on your behalf.  They tend to deal with fires as they break out.... which doesn't work real well for the client, imo.

Sleep well...... I'll expect a full breakdown of the baking process, something I don't do very often (too much science involved; )

um, actually I wasn't just including myself in the "genuine" part.  Those others who are genuine, already know I was referring to them.

No, I don't think I will rethink it.  Radical, Zealot...that's me...one and the same :)  Thank you for the other word to describe me.
